The Untold Truth

House Republicans Consider Criminal Charges for Dr. Fauci’s Alleged Lies to Congress

According to recent reports, Republican members of the House of Representatives are mulling over whether or not to file criminal charges against Dr. Anthony Fauci on the grounds that he allegedly lied to members of Congress about the funding of gain-of-function research and the origins of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

After Senator Rand Paul’s announcement in July 2021 that he would be submitting a criminal referral to the Department of Justice for lying to Congress, this action has now been taken.

Following this, the House’s Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Epidemic convened hearings in which it questioned Dr. Fauci’s assertions concerning the National Institutes of Health’s (NIAID) support of gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. At the hearing, the previous director of the CDC, Robert Redfield, accused the current CDC Director, Dr. Fauci, of excluding him from meetings with researchers in order to conceal the possibility that the lab had a leak.

The Supposed Lies of Fauci and the Constitution of the United States of America

The accusations originate from remarks made by Dr. Fauci in front of Congress, in which he denied that any funds had been allocated for gain-of-function research. Fauci testified in front of the committee in May 2021 and indicated that the NIH had never financed gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and does not now fund such research. Yet, there are reports that imply that research on gain-of-function was being undertaken at the Wuhan Institute of Virology by Dr. Shi and that this study was supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Lies spoken to by members of Congress are considered a Class A misdemeanor, which has a maximum sentence of five years in prison, and are penalized under Section 1001 of Title 18 of the United States Code. As a result, it has been claimed that members of the Republican Party in the House of Representatives are preparing criminal referrals against Dr. Fauci for allegedly breaking this law.

The Arguments Put Forth Against Dr. Fauci

The evidence against Dr. Fauci was presented in detail on a show hosted by journalist Benny Johnson, who stated that “It is provable and demonstrable that he lied.” Johnson went on to say that “there has never been a more clear-cut example of a person lying to Congress.” (There has never been a more clear-cut case of an individual lying to Congress.) Johnson went on to quote Section 1001 of Title 18 of the United States Code, which supports the claims that have been made against Dr. Fauci.

Jordan, a Republican in the House, said that they may send the matter to either the Justice Department of the Biden administration or the Senate Judiciary Committee. On the other hand, he thinks it would be best if Dr. Fauci took another round of questions so that they could construct or build the case even further. Jordan is under the impression that Dr. Fauci modified the concept of gain-of-function study in order to provide him with “wiggle space.” On the other hand, he is of the opinion that Dr. Fauci and the CDC were “juicing up” the virus in order to make it a more lethal threat.

A Few Parting Thoughts

Allegations of wrongdoing leveled against Dr. Fauci have been percolating for some time, and now it is being claimed that Republicans in the House are getting ready to file criminal referrals against him. Some people feel that the Democrats currently in control of the government will not pursue the measure, despite the fact that it may result in incarceration. In spite of this, it looks as though the evidence against Dr. Fauci is piling up, as former CDC Director Robert Redfield has accused him of suppressing evidence related to the lab leak scenario. As the investigations move forward, it is possible that the truth may emerge at some point.
