Mark Carney’s Cold Calculations: Alberta’s Struggle, China’s Gain

There’s a quiet storm brewing in the heart of Canada, and it’s not coming from the usual suspects. The winds are blowing from a corner of the world where power and influence are measured in billions—not barrels of oil. Enter Mark Carney, the man who’s made it clear he’s not wasting time with Alberta’s concerns.

Danielle Smith, Alberta’s Premier, had the audacity to challenge Bill C-69, the controversial piece of legislation threatening to put the final nail in the coffin of the province’s energy sector. Smith spoke out, calling for fairness, for a recognition of Alberta’s energy resources, which are among the richest in the world. Yet Carney, a man who’s built an empire on playing the global markets like a finely tuned piano, simply won’t entertain her or the issues she raised.

Why? Because he’s already decided where his loyalties lie, and it’s not with the hardworking people of Alberta.

Carney’s vision of the future doesn’t revolve around Alberta’s oil and gas—no, that’s a thing of the past. His sights are set on the global stage, where the real money flows freely. It’s no secret that Carney’s interests are heavily tied to Brookfield, a financial giant with deep ties to China. While Alberta’s people are left scrambling for jobs and security, Carney’s global investments seem to glide past the province without so much as a glance.

The energy policies Carney advocates for are hardly about national interests—they’re about pushing a global agenda, one that prioritizes foreign investments and green energy projects over the very resources that built Canada’s economy. Bill C-69 isn’t just a poorly thought-out regulation; it’s a deliberate, targeted attack on Alberta’s ability to grow and thrive. And who benefits? Not Canadians. Not Albertans. Not even the environment, if we’re being honest.

Carney’s refusal to engage with Alberta’s concerns is telling. He doesn’t need to. He’s already made up his mind. While regular Canadians are fighting for their livelihoods, for affordable energy, for jobs that keep their families afloat, Carney’s out there pulling the strings behind the scenes. He doesn’t feel the pressure of gas prices rising or the burden of regulations that strangle new development. To him, Alberta’s struggles are just background noise in a world where China, Brookfield, and their ilk are making decisions that affect all of us.

It’s easy to dismiss this as a distant issue, something that’s happening far away from the daily grind. But the reality is that Carney’s influence is already felt in the lives of millions. The decisions being made today won’t just affect Alberta—they’ll ripple across the country, creating a future where local economies like Alberta’s are nothing more than a footnote in a broader global game.

So, what’s the solution? Acknowledge the betrayal, and start fighting back. Albertans need to hold their ground, demand fair treatment, and call out the powers that be who are selling them out for the sake of their own global ambitions.

It’s time to stand up to people like Mark Carney, who think they can make decisions that affect the entire country while the rest of us are left in the dust. This isn’t just an energy issue. It’s a question of sovereignty, of what kind of country we want to be. And if we’re not careful, we’ll wake up one day to find that all of our resources have been sold off, our voices ignored, and our futures decided by those who have no skin in the game.

F🇨🇦CK Carney. It’s time to fight for Alberta—and for Canada.
